This course includes the following 12 units

Unit 1

Hark The Herald Angels Sing by Brian May

Let's kick off with the most epic rock version of this song you will have ever heard!

Unit 2

Silent Night Fingerstyle

We now have a beginners fingerstyle piece for you to learn. I think this is one of the most beautiful melodies ever written!

Unit 3

Deck The Halls by Green Day

We've gone all pop punk for this track, and given it a real Green Day feel! This means lots of powerchords, high gain and a very full on drum track!

Unit 4

Little Town of Bethlehem by John Mayer

We've worked out two incredible parts that are dripping in style & groove (if I do say so myself).

Unit 5

Jingle Bells by SRV

Why not combine the most well known Christmas melody with the heavy Texas style?

Unit 6

Joy To The World Blues Style

This track has such a naturally upbeat and uplifting feel to it, that we wanted to try it with an upbeat blues shuffle!

Unit 7

12 Days of Christmas by The YGA Team

Now for something very special... Very special indeed! We couldn't do 12 songs of Christmas without performing the "12 Days Of Christmas"

Unit 8

Dance of The Sugarplum Fairy Metal Style

This track beautifully lends itself to a metal style as it's already pretty dark sounding, even when you take away the epic levels of gain!

Unit 9

We Wish You a Merry Christmas by David Gilmour

We couldn't do 12 songs without covering David Gilmour and Pink Floyd!

Unit 10

First Noel by Tom Misch

Tom Misch is well known for laying down slightly funkier & slightly jazzier chord progressions than your average pop guitar player.

Unit 11

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by Slash

It's time to bring the Rock! We want to bring everything that was great about Guns N' Roses era Slash to this epic Christmas classic!

Unit 12

Oh Come All Ye Faithful by Cory Wong

For our final track we really dug deep to put together an extremely funky, Cory Wong style Christmas tune for you!

Introduction

Christmas songs with a twist

Welcome to our festive Christmas Special course! In this course we have taken some classic Christmas songs and arranged them in the style of some classic genres and legendary players. Ever wanted to know how it would sound if SRV played Jingle Bells, or if David Gilmour played We Wish You A Merry Christmas? Well now you can! This mini-course is all about having fun! Choose the songs you want to learn, and perhaps get them ready to perform for your family this Christmas!

There is one month of the year, though, when it's time to take a break from the progression and have some serious Christmas fun! So, this December, join us in learning some classic Christmas songs, played with a mega twist!

Dan Holton

All about having fun

The songs in this course vary in difficulty, so there's something for everyone, with the added bonus that these are songs that everyone will know! The intro video for each lesson will give you a playthrough so you can have an idea if it's the song for you! The interactive tabs are available for each and every song too. Remember this course is just for fun, but if you would like to share your playthroughs with us on the Discord we would absolutely love to hear them! Happy Christmas!
