Have some fun playing over this cool John Mayer style backing track which is written in the key of C#m or E major. As the tune starts on A major, rather than the root key of C# or E, you could even say this was an A Lydian backing track...
As for what to play over the top, the C# minor pentatonic and C#m scale will be the ideal choices. Check out the free eBook if you're not sure how to play those scales. You can also use the arpeggios of the chords in the song if you want to change with the chords. Have fun and keep jamming!
